Thomas Dixon enjoyed a long and illustrious career in Baltimore. Among his many partnerships were
Dixon & Wright<9> (ca. 1850-1851), Dixon, Balbirnie & Dixon (1852),
T. & J. M. Dixon (1856-1863),
Dixon & Davis (1867-1868),
Dixon & Carson, (1871-1880), and

Dixon's work appears to have concentrated on public buildings of every sort, including the 1849 Indigent Women's Asylum (Dixon & Wright), the 1854 Baltimore County Courthouse in Towson (Dixon, Balbirnie & Dixon), and the 1862 Frederick County Courthouse. His later career also featured a number of Protestant churches, including the 1869 Sudbrook Presbyterian Church in Pikesville and the 1880 Arlington Presbyterian Church in Relay, MD (Dixon & Carson).
